Crawshaws have been offering top quality products at great prices ever since we launched in Yorkshire in 1954. Over the following 60 years we have grown to become the UKs leading Fresh Meat & Food to Go retailer, with stores across the Midlands and North of England.
Although we have grown extensively over the years, our philosophy reflects our small beginnings.....we are your trusted local butcher and delicatessen who pride themselves on providing top quality products, excellent service and great value for money!
Our winning combination of providing Fresh Meat along with a varied offering of Food-to-Go products allows us to minimise waste and operate our stores in a way that retail analyists call ‘synergy efficiencies’. We just call it common sense. Either way, by running a tight ship we can pass on savings to our customers, allowing us to provide top quality products at the best possible prices all year round. In fact, after crunching the numbers, our boffins were very excited to confirm that customers can cut up to 35% off their fresh meat bill compared to shopping at one of the 'big four' supermarkets.
As a company with its roots firmly planted in Yorkshire, we are used to our customers knowing exactly what they want and not accepting anything less. Put simply, if our meat didn’t cut the mustard (excuse the pun!) then we wouldn’t be in business.
Our fresh meats are prepared into standard packs by our skilled in-store butchers on a daily basis and displayed on the shopfloor. This allows customers to get up close and personal with our products before they buy. The individually priced packs provide 100% cost transparency – the price on the pack is the price you pay. Customers can get even more for their money with our mix-and-match multipack deals or with our larger, individually priced 'Butchers Bulk Buys'
If they can’t find what they are looking for in our standard packs, customers just need to ask one of our skilled butchers who will be more than happy to cut the meat just the way they like it. We also have our 'Managers Special' a limited time only bargain offer, ask at your local store for more details.
We offer a large variety of 'Food to Go' products; whole cooked chickens and joints; curry’s and stews; pies and cooked meats; and filled baguettes, so there is sure to be something to suit all tastes at all times of the day. All of our cooked food and sandwiches are prepared daily by our skilled in-store cooks to our own secret recipes.
We know that great food starts with expert sourcing. With this in mind, we don’t limit ourselves to the suppliers that are the closest to us, but rather source quality fresh meat from responsible farmers across the UK and beyond. We are conscious of our responsibilities regarding the environment and we are always looking to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible.
Due to the nature of our manufacturing and retail processes, we can’t guarantee products we sell are free from the following ingredients and their derivatives: peanuts, nuts, fish, eggs, crustaceans, sesame seeds, milk, soybeans, celery, mustard, lupin, molluscs, cereals containing gluten and sulphites.
On the 26th of September it was announced that a strategic partnership with A.F. Blakemore (SPAR) was agreed with 3 trial sites due to open in October. These stores will deliver an enhanced shopping experience for SPAR customers as they purchase quality Crawshaw branded products at low prices. This should generate new customers for the trial Spar stores and provide existing customers with an improved value shopping basket. On the 5th of October the two initial stores at Crosspool Sheffield and Intake Doncaster started supplying Crawshaw branded products.

Frequently Asked Questions
Before you head to the 'Contact Us' section, your question may have already been answered below;
How can I apply to work at Crawshaws?
You can apply online using the 'careers' function (part of the main navigation bar found at the top of each page). You can also apply by visiting your local store and dropping off a copy of your CV. If you visit at a quieter time of the day, the store manager may be able to spend a few minutes chatting with you and answering any questions that you may have.
I have already applied online but I havent head back
If you have taken the time to send us your application, we believe it is only right that we take the time to read it (computers are great, but when it comes to important decisions like deciding who we are going to work with, we believe a human touch is required). However, as you can probably guess, your application will not the only one that we will have recieved recently....due to our success and ongoing expansion, we receive hundreds of applications each day. Because we invest a huge amount of time reading each application the old fashioned way, we are sorry to say that we simply don’t have the time to reply to everyone.
So, if you have not heard back from us within 4 weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful. However, don’t be disheartened… just because we didn’t think you were right for this particular role, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you are not right for Crawshaws. Take a look at the careers section of our website for other roles/locations that might also be of interest to…..be sure to check back every few days as we are constantly updating our career opportunities.
Where is my nearest store? / What time does my nearest store open?
You can check the location and opening times of all stores using the 'store locator' function (part of the main navigation bar found at the top of each page).
